Dice Method

3d6 has wider variance — more highs and more lows. Scaling still balances the total.

How These Scores Are Generated

Step 1 — Roll: Each ability uses the classic 4d6 drop lowest method — four six-sided dice are rolled and the lowest is discarded.

Step 2 — Proportional scaling: The six raw results are multiplied by 72 / sum of raw rolls, so the total always equals 72 (same as the Standard Array: 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8).

Step 3 — Round & fix: Scaled values are rounded to integers and clamped to 3–18. Any rounding leftover is corrected on whichever stat was rounded the most, so the total lands exactly on 72.

Why this is fair: The shape of your roll stays intact — the highest stat stays highest, the lowest stays lowest. A lucky roll just gets compressed, an unlucky one gets stretched. No more accidental Hercules vs. weakling.
